As part of the LISBOAN network, the Trust held a conference / workshop on the topic of 'European Citizenship after Lisbon' on 1st March from 11.00am until 4.00pm.


The workshop included three sessions:

  • political and intellectual underpinning of the concept 'European Citizenship'
  • the economic aspects of the concept
  • the relationship between European citizenship and parliamentary representation

Among our speakers were Dr Julian Plottka of the Institut fuer Europaeische Politik in Berlin; Professor Edward Best of the European Institute for Public Administration; Professor Thomas Christiansen of Maastrcht University; and Nina Miller of Edinburgh University.
